The design process for this major project was comprehensive and professional. Occupational therapists, care workers, and designers who specialise in inclusive design were consulted, and the end users themselves were intimately involved in the research and development. Rapid prototyping technology was innovatively used to maximise ergonomic potential and refine the organic curvature in the product. The final design was designed for manufacture and a working prototype was produced. Future development includes scope for design optimisation, product range development and a route to market.
